Audit Report and Notification
After the audit is completed, nonconformities are reported. After the nonconformities are closed, the final report is prepared and uploaded to the IFS Database. In case of compliance, it is approved and the certificate is issued.

Not a legal obligation, but a market requirement. To be a supplier in European and international markets, IFS Food or an equivalent document is usually required.

After the company establishes its system, it must keep at least 3 months of records in order to receive audit services. Certification procedures after the audit take approximately 2 months.

The validity of the certificate is one year; each year requires a recertification process.

Geographic Extent and Market Orientation
BRCGS: Based in the UK and especially preferred by British retailers and global brands.
IFS: Based in Germany, it is demanded in the European continent and especially by German and French retailers.
FSSC 22000: ISO 22000 based, globally valid, especially suitable for manufacturers and supply chain companies.

Scoring System
BRCGS:“Grade” (AA, A, B, C, D) is given as a result of the audit.
IFS: Uses a percentage scoring system (0-100%). Certificate levels: Basic and High Level.
FSSC 22000: No scoring; certificate is issued when nonconformities are closed.

KO (Knock-Out) Requirements
IFS: There are certain critical requirements (CRs); if one of them is not met, certification cannot be obtained.
BRCGS: No KO system, but critical nonconformities directly affect certification.
FSSC 22000: No KO system, nonconformities are corrected through the ISO approach.
