Recycled Claim Standard (RCS)
RCS (Recycled Claim Standard) is an international standard that verifies the origin and quantity of recycled materials used in your products. Strengthen your brand with RCS certification to ensure transparency and trust in your sustainable production chain.

Recycled Claim Standard (RCS)
What is it?
The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) is an international, voluntary standard for verifying and tracking the content of products containing recycled materials. This standard ensures traceability of recycled raw materials throughout the supply chain. RCS aims to provide a transparent, consistent and comprehensive assessment of a product’s recycled material content claims.

RCS is run by Textile Exchange. The main objective of the standard is to increase the use of recycled materials in products. This standard can be used for any product containing a minimum of 5% recycled materials.
RCS Certificate Scope
The RCS certificate is an important international certificate for companies that recycle, use or trade recycled materials in their production, especially textile, plastic, paper and metal companies.
Recovered Material Definitions
Reclaimed Material
Material that is not used for recovery as waste or energy, but is instead collected for input into recycling processes.
Pre-Consumer Material
Material diverted from the waste stream during the production process. Excludes reuse of materials that can be recovered in the same process that generated it, such as reprocessing, regrinding or scrap generated in a process.
Post-Consumer Material
Materials that have been used by consumers and turned into waste after reaching the end of their consumption life (Used Plastic Bottles, etc.)
Recycling
Recycling of the collected material into recycled material by one of the recycling methods (mechanical, chemical, biological).

RCS 100
It guarantees that the product contains 95-100% recycled material. If it contains the same type of non-certified material, the label rating is RCS Blended.
RCS Blended
Guarantees that the product contains 5-95% recycled material. There are no other restrictions on the remaining content.

RCS Certification Process
The following steps are followed to obtain RCS certification
How to Conduct an RCS Audit?
RCS auditing covers the recycling of recyclable textile, plastic, paper and metal waste and the production, packaging, storage and trade of all products made from these recycled materials. Audit processes ensure that recycled materials are monitored at every stage of production. RCS is a standard established to monitor and verify the content of recycled materials.
At USB Certification, we guide you through the RCS certification process and help your business achieve its sustainability goals. With our team of experts, we are with you every step of the way, from the application process to the audit and certification.
