STANDARD BODY

What is IFS?
Mission and Goals

IFS (International Featured Standards) is a global standards framework established in 2003 in collaboration with retail and wholesale trade associations, covering all links in the supply chain. It brings manufacturers, suppliers and retailers together in a common language by providing uniform assessment criteria for product safety and quality.

The broad family of standards includes standards for the food production (IFS Food), logistics, wholesale, broker, packaging and home/personal care (HPC) sectors, as well as development and sustainability programs such as IFS Progress and IFS ESG Check. Based on international norms, this structure aims to increase process standardization, personnel awareness and supplier compliance in businesses, while reducing the burden of duplicate audits and ensuring continuous and sustainable improvement in product safety.
