Netafim and Virridy Sign Partnership Agreement for ‘Carbon Credit Programme in Agriculture’

Netafim, a leading global manufacturer of precision irrigation technologies, has entered into a partnership with Virridy, known for its environmentally friendly innovative solutions, to transform the agriculture sector in Turkey. Through this partnership, the Carbon Credit Programme for Agriculture has been launched with the aim of promoting sustainable agricultural practices and reducing the carbon footprint.

In its initial phase, the programme will cover more than 1,000 hectares of agricultural land and offer farmers the opportunity to take concrete steps to reduce their environmental impact. The goal is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by at least 3.5 tonnes per hectare annually. This project will help farmers reduce their greenhouse gas emissions while also providing them with additional income opportunities. Through the carbon credit system, producers will earn credits by reducing carbon emissions through this programme, and these credits will generate financial gains.

The Carbon Credit Programme represents a significant step towards reducing carbon emissions in agricultural production and aims to contribute to Turkey’s sustainable agriculture goals. Netafim and Virridy hope that this programme will help create a cleaner environment and a more efficient agricultural sector.
